Being steps from the White House is particularly nice when the holidays arrive. For the National Tree lighting ceremony on December 5th the Occidental will offer both hot chocolate and mulled cider (with and without alcohol) starting at 5pm. And Santa Claus will be visiting the bar that day and posing for pictures. He likes his cider with alcohol, mind you.
What’s better than having one of Washington’s finest farm-to-table restaurants adjacent to your office building? Being able to have their food delivered straight to your office, that’s what.
The Occidental has now partnered with Caviar to deliver our signature dishes that feature only locally sourced ingredients straight to your office. Bon appetit.
At the Occidental our storied walls carry the portraits of American icons many of whom were military legends, selflessly risking their lives for a greater good. On Veteran’s Day, Monday, November 11th, we are giving anyone with a valid military ID a 50% discount on their order to recognize the tremendous sacrifice our vets have made.

If you’re going visit our dear neighbors National Theatre do yourself a favor and indulge in our pre-theatre dinner menu. While some restaurants give theatre patrons second billing, our three-course pre-theatre menu gets a standing ovation offering popular gourmet selections such as lobster bisque, wild mushroom risotto, and braised boneless short rib. And master mixologist Frankie Jones has crafted a thematic cocktail for every National show this season — if that doesn’t deserve applause nothing does.
