The Occidental offers several private dining venues for your special occasion. We can accommodate groups ranging in size from 2 to 500, including the option of using the entire restaurant with a minimum food and beverage requirement.

RESERVING WITH US
We welcome all inquiries about space availability and we will gladly hold space for you for a period of 2 business days. After 2 business days, we will be happy to forward you the required confirmation materials or release your hold.
- Your reservation will be confirmed upon receipt of a signed preliminary contract and your NON-REFUNDABLE deposit.
- Security deposit/cancellation fees are payable by cash, approved check or credit card. Cash and Check deposits are applied towards your final bill.
- The balance in full is due by cash, approved check or credit card at the end of your function.
- An automatic gratuity of 20% of the final food and beverage bill OR the guaranteed minimum of food and beverage, (whichever is greater), will be applied to all Private Dining Functions. Menu prices do not include a 10% D.C. sales tax.
- If you are tax exempt, a copy of your tax-exempt certificate must be provided with your signed agreement.
EVENT TIMES
In order to accommodate all of our private dining guests in the most expeditious manner possible, we work to stagger event timing to ensure attentive and gracious service. Therefore, the order of events for any particular day is determined by the party that secured the initial reservation and specified the times for their arrival and seating. All subsequent reservations will be accommodated so that seating times do not overlap. Also, your program timing is extremely important to us! We request that any meeting agendas or speaker program timeline be attached to your final private party agreement. This will assist our team in expediting your service with as little interruption as possible.
MENUS
Menu selections are due 15 days prior to your event date. Last minute bookings are subject to product availability; we will do our best to accommodate all menu requests or suggest alternatives. For parties of more than 10 guests, we recommend a set menu. This ensures that your guests may be served graciously and efficiently. We will always accommodate individuals with differences in tastes or dietary restrictions. We are equipped to offer a choice of two entrees for parties of up to 60 guests; however, we require advanced entrée distribution on all parties of 50 or more. Should you require a special menu for your event, Executive Chef Rodney Scruggs would be pleased to personally create a menu specially tailored to your event.

Wine:
- Half Bottle per Guest is typical consumption
- Formula is: Number of Guests, multiplied by Price per Bottle, divided by two
- Customized wine parings with each course are available. Please speak with our Sommelier directly for full details.
- Our Sommelier will be happy to assist you in your selection. Our banquet wine list is suggested for groups larger than twenty-five because of its compatibility with current and seasonal menus as well as availability from local distributors and importers.

FLOWERS AND MUSIC
We will be happy to order floral arrangements for you. Prices start at $25.00 for single stem roses, $60.00 for fresh-cut bouquets in vases, and table centerpieces from $100.00. The Occidental provides recorded music throughout the restaurant. If you wish to have live music, a variety of styles and artists are available for your consideration. Please note, however, that the Occidental Restaurant does not have a license to sponsor the performance of copyrighted music at the restaurant. Performers who play music at the restaurant must either limit their performances to just works in the public domain or possess a license that entitles them to perform copyrighted music. If customer arranges for the performer, customer shall be responsible to ensure that the performer complies with the limitation described above.
OTHER AMENITIES
As a memento of the occasion, we offer personalized menus and table menu cards to your guests. Menus can also be watermarked with your corporate logo. We can provide computer calligraphy placecards on plain stock at $2.00 each. Coat check is available as weather dictates. Unless you require specific arrangements for a designated attendant, compensation for such service is discretionary.
PARKING
Parking is complimentary for lunch and dinner guests. All guests dining at The Occidental can valet park in front of the Willard Hotel located at 1401 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest, Washington D.C. 20004. After all guests have completed their dining experience, parking claim checks must be validated at the host stand.
GUARANTEED FINAL GUEST COUNT
Your guaranteed attendance figure, as well as the final number of each entrée to be served (if required) is due by noon, THREE BUSINESS DAYS prior to your function, and may NOT be reduced thereafter. You are responsible for calling in the final guest counts and are requested to leave the information on our voicemail if necessary. If we do not receive a timely guarantee, charges will be based on the highest estimated number of guests shown on your Private Party Agreement. All parties that cancel their event once food and wine have been ordered for your event will be charged the full estimated Food & Beverage revenue the event would have reasonably generated, plus any applicable sales taxes. If STAFF has reported to the restaurant on the day of your event, you will also be charged an automatic 20% service charge.
